Intrinsic value is the present value of the cash YPF Sociedad Anonima can generate over the rest of its useful life, discounted at the 10-year Treasury yield. We project the historical growth of book value (or EPS for companies with heavy buybacks) over 10 years, apply a historical exit multiple, and discount it back to today, adding dividends. The margin of safety is the gap between that intrinsic value and the market price: the larger and more positive it is, the more protection you have against estimation errors or market drops. A negative margin means the market is already paying more than the business appears to be worth. These figures are educational and do not constitute financial advice.
